Jean-Pierre has over 17 years of experience providing accounting advisory and consulting services to the technology, media & entertainment and consumer business industries (with a focus on consumer products and retail & distribution). Prior to joining CFGI, Jean-Pierre spent 13 years with Deloitte. He started his career in South Africa and was transferred to New Zealand for a 3-year assignment prior to arriving in New York City. Jean-Pierre was a Senior Manager for 6 years in Deloitte’s Audit Practice in New York City serving large multi-national clients across media & entertainment and the consumer business industries.

Jean-Pierre advises clients and leads large engagement teams through a variety of complex accounting matters particularly related to IFRS (including IFRS conversions), presentation & disclosure, consolidation assessments, business combinations, revenue recognition, lease accounting, inventory accounting (including biological assets under IFRS), and SEC reporting requirements. Leadership is an area of strength for Jean-Pierre, and he has worked in collaboration with client management throughout the financial reporting, close process as well as the audit process and presented to client management on suggested improvements in the client’s business and internal controls as well as technical accounting topics.

Jean-Pierre is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York and is an active committee member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Financial Accounting Standards Committee, International Accounting & Auditing Committee and also the Chief Financial Officers Committee. Jean-Pierre is an honors graduate of the University of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce Honors in Financial Accounting and Audit. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of South Africa.
