CFGI Sponsors the 2014 Heart Challenge

In the month of May, CFGI sponsored the American Heart Association’s 2014 Heart Challenge. This year, the challenge consisted of a 5k race, complete with an obstacle course, and was held on May 10th at Prowse Farm in Canton, MA. 28 CFGI employees ran the 5k, and navigated through the course of obstacles that included a Cargo Net Crawl, Incline Walls, Balance Beams, Staircases, and more.

The race was organized by the American Heart Association, the largest voluntary health organization working to prevent, treat, and defeat heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular diseases. CFGI is proud to support such a critical mission, and to help contribute to the total of $95,332 that was raised by the Association.

Through CFGI’s Silver sponsorship position in the Challenge, the company’s donations will support the American Heart Association’s clinical, education, and research programs in the Greater Boston area. CFGI chose to sponsor this important event, knowing that every contribution will help bring the American Heart Association further along the path of reducing heart disease and stroke throughout our nation, our communities, and among our friends and family.

Almost 500 individuals from 43 teams participated in the Challenge. The exceptional turnout made for a great day of fun and support for a good cause. Shane Caiazzo, Partner at CFGI, stated, “I am so proud of CFGI and everyone who ran the race. It is incredibly fulfilling to know that our efforts contributed to such a noble cause. I look forward to doing this again next year!” The 5k Heart Challenge served as a step in the right direction towards fighting heart disease and stroke. CFGI looks forward to supporting the American Heart Association’s future goal to help communities build stronger health and a better quality of life.
