CFGI Adds Two Industry Veterans to Its Tax Consulting Team

Scott Karas, Senior Managing Director

Mr. Karas has over 30 years of experience providing tax consulting and compliance services to thousands of technology, life science, manufacturing, software and service clients. Formerly a Managing Director in the technology tax practice at PwC, Mr. Karas has successfully served the tax needs for clients ranging in size from venture-backed startup to fortune 500. Mr. Karas’ deep expertise includes tax provision calculations and review assistance (accounting for income taxes, ASC 740), income tax return compliance, tax control identification and testing (Sarbanes-Oxley section 404), uncertain tax position assessments and monitoring of tax positions on financial statements (ASC 740-10) as well as other federal tax issues.  

As a Senior Managing Director in CFGI’s tax consulting practice, Mr. Karas will bring his dynamic approach and 30+ years of expertise to CFGI’s national client base of both publicly traded and privately held companies. Mr. Karas prides himself on a reputation for bringing superior client service and offering his clients practical solutions to their most complex and technical challenges. 

Philip Graham, Senior Managing Director

Mr. Graham has over 30 years of experience as an in-house tax director and advisor.  Prior to joining CFGI, Mr. Graham had a 25-year career at Fidelity Investments where he was Senior Vice President of Corporate Tax and responsible for planning and implementation of tax services to support Fidelity businesses.  In addition to his primary focus of federal and state tax matters, Mr. Graham played a key role in establishing Fidelity’s (in-house investing) venture capital, private equity, hedge fund, and real estate operations.  Mr. Graham also led tax services for these businesses, including training/development of professional staff and advising senior management on all tax matters.   

As a Senior Managing Director in CFGI’s tax consulting practice, Mr. Graham offers an extensive leadership background and 30+ years of corporate tax experience to CFGI’s diverse financial services client base.
