Ken Welter is a Managing Partner in CFGI’s San Francisco Bay Area practice and a senior leader within the firm’s technology and private equity practices. He brings more than 30 years of experience in strategic growth, capital markets, and transactions, with a focus on helping CFOs and finance organizations navigate complex change. Over the course of his career, Ken has advised public, private, and PE-backed companies across technology, fintech, financial services, healthcare, consumer products, and media. He has led more than 275 M&A transactions ranging from $5 million to $15 billion, scaled businesses through digital transformation and operational redesign, and built high-performing teams. His expertise spans financial infrastructure, working with structured and at-scale data, capital
markets, value creation, and end-to-end deal execution.
Prior to joining CFGI, Ken served as Chief Business Officer at a high-growth fintech company, where he helped formalize the finance function, build data and analytics capabilities, and support rapid ARR expansion. Earlier in his career, he was a Partner at a Big Four firm, leading global technology and media transaction advisory teams and coordinating strategy, diligence, valuation, and integration services for multinational clients.
At CFGI, Ken leads the continued expansion of the San Francisco office and West Coast presence, with a particular focus on private equity, IPO readiness, and finance transformation. He works closely with CFOs, sponsors, and management teams to design and implement transaction-ready operating models, modern finance infrastructure, and data-driven decision frameworks that support sustainable growth.
