Hani Ali is a Managing Director at CFGI, providing accounting advisory, consulting, and interim management services to clients in a variety of industries. He has over 10 years of experience in the accounting and audit industry. Hani is versed in evaluating internal controls and providing suggestions to enhance SOX frameworks including identifying, addressing, and remediating any internal control deficiencies. He also has experience with managing and supervising large teams, and overseeing the coordination between various groups such as specialist functions and subject matter experts, including actuarial, tax, valuation, advisory, IT, National Office, and SEC services.
Prior to joining CFGI, Hani was a Senior Manager at Deloitte in New York City. While at Deloitte, Hani worked in the financial services industry with a primary focus on insurance clients. He led global risk-based financial statement and internal control audit engagements, including annual 10-K and ICFR audits, interim 10-Q reviews, as well as subsidiary GAAP, statutory, and IFRS audits. Hani analyzed and advised on potential issues, including technical accounting matters, non-routine and complex transactions, acquisitions, carve-outs, demutualizations, debt offerings, new system implementations, and adoptions of new accounting and regulatory standards. He also developed and directed audits of shared service functions supporting international engagements.
Hani graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business, Major in Accounting, and graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Master of Business Administration in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.
