Mun Soon is a Managing Director with CFGI with over 15 years of experience providing accounting and advisory services to public and private companies of all sizes. His industry experience includes technology, life sciences, manufacturing, chemicals and industrial products, agriculture, retail, consumer products, energy and utilities, automotive and logistics. Mun Soon consistently works with clients to find solutions to complex accounting issues and provides a tailored approach that fits each client’s needs and circumstances.
Mun Soon’s skills include complex technical accounting matters, acquisition integration and accounting, IPO, SPAC and audit readiness, SEC reporting, period-end close process, process improvement, and data analytics.
Before joining CFGI, Mun Soon was a director of financial reporting and technical accounting at a hyper-growth biotechnology company in the US that pioneered gene editing using CRISPR technology. In this role, he served as a key component of the company’s accounting and finance team, acting as the assistant controller and the head of the technical accounting function at the company. Mun Soon’s role included overseeing the period-end accounting close, periodic financial reporting, routine and non-routine technical accounting matters, and company-wide process and control improvement and implementation. Mun Soon is an alumnus of EY and PwC audit and assurance practice where he was responsible for the management of audit engagements in five offices, in four countries located in three continents globally including the United States.
Mun Soon holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Accounting and Finance from Sheffield Hallam University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in California. He is also a Fellow of Chartered Certified Accountants through the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom.
