He brings 25+ years of experience as a Partner in Public Accounting, the Chief Financial Officer for two public institutions, and the Chief Credit Officer for a Fortune 500 brokerage firm. His industry specialization includes Financial Services, Technology, Retail, Entertainment, and Hospitality.

Stephen’s background includes serving as both an Audit and Consulting Partner in public accounting, and as a C-level Executive in industry. While in public accounting, he has worked with clients in the areas of financial statement audit, accounting/finance, business transformation, ESG, internal audit, regulatory compliance, risk management, and Sarbanes-Oxley. During his time in industry, he successfully executed mergers and acquisitions, raised capital, restructured financial positions, and digitally transformed the finance, treasury and investor relations’ functions. He also maintained all regulatory relations with governmental agencies (Department of Treasury, OCC, Federal Reserve, SEC) during his time in industry, including House and Senate lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill for meaningful regulatory reform.

Stephen has a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama, with additional credentials from Kellogg School of Management, UC Berkeley School of Law, Columbia University, and Harvard Business School. He is a Certified Public Accountant in California.
