James Taylor is a Managing Director in CFGI’s Accounting Advisory practice in Dublin, bringing more than 15 years of experience in audit and assurance services, with deep expertise in complex accounting matters under IFRS and US GAAP. He is knowledgeable in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) rules and regulations and has significant experience working with Irish and US listed companies.
At CFGI, James leads engagements involving IFRS and US GAAP technical accounting, conversion services (including dual reporting), audit readiness and support, SEC reporting, and controls and risk advisory, including US SOX compliance. He has particular experience supporting foreign private issuers and capital market transactions, and has worked across industries including consumer business (retail, distribution, and consumer products), real estate and REITs, software and SaaS, media and entertainment, and asset management.
Prior to joining CFGI, James was a Director in KPMG Ireland’s Construction, Healthcare, Energy and Communications Audit practice and the Accounting Advisory group. Prior to returning to Ireland in 2021, he was a Senior Manager in KPMG’s Chicago Audit practice, having been based in the US since 2014. James has experience leading IFRS-to-US-GAAP conversions and leading assurance projects supporting organizations through transformational growth phases and subsequent exit strategies such as IPOs and sales or disposals, often coordinating with component and local management teams across multiple jurisdictions.
James holds a Bachelor of Business & Legal Studies degree from University College Dublin. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a member of the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants, and a licensed CPA in Illinois. He is based in Dublin, Ireland.
