Azamat Magauov is a Managing Director in CFGI’s tax practice. He serves a diverse range of clients, from privately held start-ups to large publicly traded multinational corporations. His primary responsibilities involve providing services that span from routine recurring compliance to complex tax consulting projects.
Azamat brings nearly 15 years of public accounting and industry experience. His specializations include Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740) , IPO tax readiness (including SPACs) , tax accounting for M&A/carveouts , and US GAAP/IFRS tax technical accounting. Prior to CFGI, Azamat was the Director of Global Tax at Intel and the Director, Head of Global Tax at Blue Nile. In these industry roles, his responsibilities included leading the worldwide tax function with a global team and managing both direct and indirect tax filings in nearly 40 countries. He also led the public company tax readiness project for Blue Nile, playing a key role in its go-public deal via SPAC and subsequent acquisition by Signet Jewelers. Before his industry roles, Azamat worked at a Big 4 firm for over eight years.
Azamat is a Certified Public Accountant in California and Virginia. He is currently part of the Executive MBA program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from KIMEP University.
