With over 16 years of accounting and finance experience, George has deep knowledge in accounting and financial reporting. George provides accounting advisory services to both public and privately held companies.
George is a Partner and leader of the firm’s accounting advisory services in Philadelphia. In this role, George leads a group of highly specialized professionals whose primary focus is helping companies assess and determine the proper accounting treatment for a variety of transactions under US GAAP and SEC regulations (e.g., IPO readiness, spin-offs, carve-outs, derivatives, acquisitions, reorganization, foreign currency, consolidation, share-based compensation, revenue recognition, leases etc.) and reporting areas (e.g., financial statement preparation). In addition, George operates as an interim accounting resource for CFGI’s clients to help with leading financial closing and reporting processes.
Prior to joining CFGI, George served as an internal audit manager for the Vanguard Group Inc. where he executed internal audits of Vanguard’s investment management, international and corporate operations. This included performing risk assessments of processes, testing key internal controls as a result of the risk assessments and reporting testing results to senior management in the organization.
Prior to Vanguard, George provided assurance services to large multi-national private and public companies as an audit manager for KPMG LLP. He led engagement teams and was involved in completing annual financial statement audits, interim reviews of quarterly financial information and audits of controls over financial reporting as well as comfort letter procedures for public offerings raising $375 million in equity financing and an $8.3 billion going private transaction.
George graduated from LaSalle University with a Bachelor of Science in Business with concentrations in Accounting. George has the distinction of being a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) and Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) charter holder.
