John Craven

Managing Director

John brings over a decade of experience providing transaction advisory and complex accounting services to companies navigating transformative transactions and events. He works closely with both corporate clients and private equity across a broad range of industries, advising on initial public offerings, SPAC mergers, 144A debt offerings, divestitures, business combinations, and the adoption of new accounting standards.

John primarily advises clients through capital markets transactions and other strategic initiatives. He regularly assists with financial reporting, IPO readiness, SEC compliance, and technical accounting matters. His clients regularly compliment his outstanding client service, strategic insights and leadership.

Prior to joining CFGI in 2025, John served as a Director in PwC’s capital markets and accounting advisory practice for eight years. During his time with PwC, he spent three years in Frankfurt, providing advisory services to overseas clients and foreign private issuers accessing the U.S. capital markets. Upon relocating to the U.S. in 2021, he specialized in IPO services for large- and mid-cap privately held businesses, including founder-led and private-equity-owned companies. Earlier in his career, John was a member of PwC’s assurance practice, where he performed financial statement and internal controls audits over large, publicly held companies.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Master of Accounting Science from the University of Illinois. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Illinois.
