Melanie Walker is a Managing Director with CFGI, providing accounting and advisory services to her clients. Melanie brings over 18 years of experience in accounting, audit, financial reporting and technical accounting for both public and private companies across a variety of industries including life sciences, retail, technology, telecommunications and manufacturing industries. She has supported interim finance needs such as VP of Finance and has extensive experience with large acquisitions, divestments and joint arrangement transactions through preparation and/or review of carve-out of financial statements as well as SPAC and IPO readiness. Melanie also has significant experience performing key technical accounting assessments including complex hedge accounting programs, debt/equity funding and accounting standard adoptions for financial instruments and revenue recognition.
Melanie’s skills include financial closing and reporting processes; technical accounting (IFRS and US GAAP); SEC reporting; transaction support (contract analysis); business combination accounting; debt offerings; and hedge accounting/financial instruments, revenue accounting, and joint arrangements.
Before joining CFGI, Melanie was a Senior Manager of SEC financial reporting and technical accounting at a multibillion steel and mining company. In this role, she led the multi-national company’s SEC and European regulatory reporting, implemented new accounting policies and standards, and included extensive work in consolidation management and supporting the company’s M&A processes with technical accounting and contract analysis. Melanie is an alumnus of Deloitte’s audit practice in Seattle and in Luxembourg. Melanie has previously held Finance Manager, Investment Accountant, and General Ledger Accountant roles.
Melanie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration from Eastern Washington University. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Washington.
