Michael is a Managing Director at CFGI, providing accounting and consulting services to clients in a variety of industries. He has over 10 years of experience advising companies of all sizes, from pre-revenue clients to those with revenues in the billions. He is a member of CFGI’s Risk Advisory practice, focusing on process improvements and SOX implementations and provides his clients with general and technical accounting advice.
Michael’s recent projects include managing first-time SOX implementations and existing SOX overhauls for multiple clients. This work consists of assessing the current processes in place, determining areas that need improvement and making recommendations to update, determining stakeholders, building the project plan, project management and executing against that plan, all the while communicating with management. Michael has experience on the implementation of the new leasing standard ASC 842, and supporting the conversion to a system compatible with the new standard. He has also worked on the migration of an equity compensation system and creating narratives and flow charts for previously undocumented client processes.
Prior to CFGI, Michael worked for a large global medical device manufacturer where he oversaw the integration of two acquired entities in addition to leading a team that was an integral part of the company’s monthly reporting. Michael began his career in accounting with Ernst & Young before moving to a large regional firm.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Maine.
