Shura Durakova is a Managing Director in the CFGI’s Finance Effectiveness practice, bringing cross-industry experience serving public and private companies. She helps CFOs and Finance Leaders modernize their organizations through operating model transformation, technology and AI enablement, and scalable service delivery.
Shura has led complex finance transformations spanning strategy, operating model design, Global Business Services, M&A integration, and large-scale implementation. Her experience covers the full transformation lifecycle, from strategy and business case development through implementation, change adoption, and value realization.
Before joining CFGI, Shura spent nearly 17 years at KPMG in finance transformation and innovation leadership roles. She led the development of KPMG’s Agentic Finance offering, the KPMG Value Engine, combining finance and operating model expertise with AI and technology to create next-generation finance solutions. She also directed the delivery methodology, cross-functional coordination, and go-to-market strategy.
She is recognized for translating strategic priorities and innovative ideas into practical, scalable solutions, while building high-performing teams and trusted relationships with finance leaders.
Shura is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from South-West University in Bulgaria and a master’s degree in Accounting from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria.
