Mike is a Managing Director with CFGI’s Operational Excellence team, providing Business Transformation Consulting services to public and private clients of all sizes. Mike is an energetic project delivery leader with high integrity, exceptional critical thinking abilities, problem-solving/decision-making skills, and strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record in fostering team environments across large-scale and cross-functional projects that align an organization’s resources, processes, and technology to corporate strategy in order to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
He has strong knowledge of business process optimization and workflow design with projects that have included the design and build of shared services center transformations, Cloud HCM/HRIS system implementation support, and organizational design for different business functions for a Fortune 500 Healthcare Services Provider, including its Revenue Cycle Management subsidiary. He successfully transitioned controllership functions, operational revenue-generating, and core business activities resulting in tens of millions of dollars in cost savings through gained operational efficiencies and headcount reductions.
Before joining CFGI in 2019, Mike was an Audit Senior Manager in KPMG’s Government and Public Sector in Washington, D.C. where he led large-scale financial statement audit teams for various DoD agencies, including multiple first-year audit clients where opening balances were a primary focal point. Through his time at KPMG, he gained significant exposure to various business cycles including record to report, order to cash, procure to pay, and payroll. Additionally, he spent significant time reviewing and assessing internal controls and balances over construction-in-progress (CIP) balances for his federal government client that serves as the main construction agent or service provider for the entire DoD. Mike also worked with large data sets in IDEA Data Analysis to reconcile accounts, map and crosswalk financial statement line items, and to pull sample populations for substantive testing.
Mike holds a BSM in Finance and MS in Accountancy from Tulane University, and he is a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
