Sophie is a Managing Director in CFGI’s UK Risk Advisory practice, with over 20 years of experience in both practice and industry roles.
Sophie specialises in a broad range of risk advisory services, including enterprise risk management, internal audit and risk assessments, internal control frameworks, SOX compliance, UK Corporate Reform (Provision 29) readiness and business process improvements.
Before joining CFGI, Sophie spent 14 years leading external audits at both Deloitte LLP and Ernst & Young LLP, starting her career in London, then transferring to the Midlands region. Although working across a wide range of industries, Sophie was seen as a Retail and Consumer Business specialist.
After a significant time working in practice, Sophie took on a role as Head of Finance at an owner managed premium furniture retailer in the Midlands, giving Sophie a real hands on experience of leading a finance function whilst working as part of the executive team. Sophie then moved to take on a new role as Head of Internal Audit & Risk for a health and wellness retailer, where she spent nearly 5 years leading on all internal audit and risk management matters across the group.
Sophie joins CFGI with an extensive background in professional services, coupled with hands-on experience of working in industry roles, allowing her to appreciate the practicalities and challenges of driving forward change within an organisation.
Sophie is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Accounting from the University of Bristol.
