CFGI Donates $20,000 to Local Area Charities at Completion of 2014-2015 CFGI Charity Football Pool

Boston, MA, March 20, 2015 | With the close of the 2014-2015 NFL football season and CFGI’s 3rd Annual Charity Football Pool, CFGI donated $20,000 to local charities on behalf of the top five winners of the competition. A winning combination of competitive fun and charitable giving, CFGI’s Charity Football Pool is a survivor-style pool where each participant picks one NFL team each week until they select a losing team more than twice during the season, resulting in elimination.

“CFGI’s Charity Football Pool is a great way for us to support the community, while engaging with our clients and colleagues in a fun and charitable way. Everyone has a charity that is most important to them and it’s always rewarding to see these contributions go to organizations that support so many good causes” says Shane Caiazzo, Co-Founder and Partner of CFGI. This year, CFGI’s Charity Football Pool included nearly 400 participants with CFGI making a $50 dollar donation per participant that joined the event. At the conclusion of the season, CFGI calculates the top five survivors and allows each winner to select a charity to receive the charitable funds.

The 2014-2015 CFGI Charity Football Pool winners and designated charities are as follows:

1st Place: Steve Cromwell, CFO, Globoforce – $10,000
$5,000 donation to Christopher’s Haven and $5,000 donation to Save A Dog

2nd Place: Robert Meyer, SVP, Finance and Corporate Controller, American Tower – $5,000
$5,000 donation to the Arlington Food Pantry

3rd Place: Jerry Kahil, Senior Controller, GE – $2,500
$2,500 donation to Things of My Very Own, Inc.

4th Place: Ed Spies, Director, CFGI – $1,500
$1,500 donation to The Elise Spies Scholarship Fund

5th Place: Melanie Kavanagh, Senior Manager, CFGI – $1,000
$1,000 donation to Make-A-Wish® Massachusetts and Rhode Island

“The most fulfilling part of the CFGI Charity Football Pool is being able to connect with friends and colleagues and positively impact the charities selected at the end of the season,” says Nicholas Nardone, Co-Founder and Partner at CFGI. The CFGI team extends a sincere thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s pool and helped to make it a great success. Looking forward to next season, CFGI is expecting to top last year’s charity pool with over 400 participants for another season of charitable giving and fun competition.
