Ruth is a Partner with CFGI, providing state and local tax as well as mergers and acquisition tax services to clients across a variety of industries. Here at CFGI, Ruth leads the mergers and acquisitions tax practice, providing federal, state, and indirect tax due diligence analysis and exposure calculations, tax structuring analysis and assistance, and post-transaction work (e.g., implementation of remediation steps). Additionally, Ruth leads the state and local tax practice, providing oversight on the state income/indirect tax compliance, audit and appeal support, VDA preparation and support, nexus studies, state tax compliance, and assistance with complex state tax matters to a wide range of clients across a multitude of industries. She has over 10 years of state & local tax experience assisting clients across various industries. 

Prior to joining CFGI, Ruth worked in multiple roles within Big4 and industry. While at Big 4, she assisted clients with mergers and acquisition matters, state and local tax consulting, and controversy, including but not limited to conducting reverse income tax audits, nexus studies, taxability matrices, state tax planning, audit and appeal support, tax due diligence, tax structuring, tax modeling, and VDA assistance. During her time in industry, Ruth worked at a pharmaceutical company managing indirect tax as well as all other non-income tax (e.g., excise taxes, opioid taxes) matters, including but not limited to: overseeing relevant compliance, managing state tax audits and appeals, conducting nexus and taxability matrices, exemption certificate management, managing opioid tax compliance, and collaborating with various tax team members across federal, international as well as transfer pricing on tax planning projects. 

Ruth holds a Juris Doctorate focused on Taxation and an MBA in Finance/Accounting. She is licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
