Al leads the mergers and acquisitions tax practice at CFGI, bringing more than 15 years of experience in both public accounting and industry as a dedicated M&A specialist. Al’s experience encompasses providing buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence, transaction structuring, tax modeling and tax attribute profiling services to financial and strategic clients across a broad range of industries.
Prior to joining CFGI, Al spent 13 years in public accounting, most recently as a Managing Director in Deloitte’s M&A Transaction Services practice. While in public accounting, he worked on a variety of complex domestic and cross-border transactions, providing tax due diligence, structuring, modeling and purchase agreement support services. Al also served as Deloitte’s east region section 382 competency leader, helping clients unlock the value inherent in their tax attributes.
Al also spent 2 years in industry, serving as the U.S. tax lead for all acquisitive and divisive transactions and internal restructurings for a multi billion-dollar inbound software company.
Al holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Suffolk University, a Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University School of Law and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. He is a licensed attorney in Massachusetts.
