David Alvarado is a Managing Director with CFGI, providing accounting and advisory services in a variety of industries. David is a strategic accounting leader with over 18 years of experience in public and private settings, including 14 years at PwC (2 years at PwC UK). He is equally comfortable managing complex technical and commercial accounting issues, as well as working directly with C-suite and investor-level stakeholders regarding critical accounting matters. David has great interpersonal skills to establish process efficiency and clarity for day-to-day accounting operations and develop staff to top performance.

While at CFGI, David has primarily worked for technology and biotechnology clients. David has executed a variety of projects including SEC reporting, system implementations, and interim Controller and Assistant Controller roles.

David, previously a Director at PwC Houston, was responsible for leading all aspects of the financial statement audits of various public and non-public companies in a wide range of industries: oil and gas (upstream, midstream, and oil field services), heavy machinery manufacturing, software as a service, food production & distribution, water utility, server infrastructure, and computer repair. As a Director of Accounting in a start-up refinery, David led technical accounting research and setting up accounting processes related to commercial accounting, which included intermediation financing and supply & offtake arrangements, cashflow sharing payments, intercompany transactions, and debt restructure transactions. During the 2-year secondment to PwC UK, he assisted a client in setting up and optimizing processes for accounting of all EMEA operations for 8 companies acquired during that time.

David has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting from the University of Texas at Brownsville. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.
