John brings 25+ years of experience with private equity portfolio, public, and other companies to clients as a Partner at CFGI. This includes CFO mentoring, interim CFO services, carve-outs, post-merger integration, hyper-growth, turnaround, and other advisory work, often with international or global aspects. John’s industry experience includes Biotech, eCommerce, eSports, FinTech, SaaS, Cyber Security, Tech-Enabled Services, Manufacturing, Government Contracting, Cellular Telecom, Radio Frequency Engineering, Scaffolding, Construction, and more.
Recent engagements for John include deSPAC target and other interim CFO services roles with “unicorn” companies in the Biotech and eCommerce sectors, as well as roles with construction and infrastructure sector companies. Other highlights include interim CFO services for a global company with championship eSports teams in multiple countries and for a healthcare supplies company importing needles and syringes in support of the Operation Warp Speed COVID-19 Vaccination Program. Private equity investors John has worked with include Carlyle, DLJ, GTCR, ACAS, ACON, and three roles for H.I.G.. He also worked in public accounting in the UK and Silicon Valley and is a Big Four alumni Audit and Business Advisory Experienced Manager.
John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Certified Public Accountant in California, a Certified Information Technology Professional, and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He also holds the US equivalent of a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in accounting from the University of Wales.
