With over 16 years of accounting and auditing experience, Waleed is uniquely positioned to apply multifaceted expertise across multiple industries including but not limited to financial services (private equity complex, hedge fund, banking, consumer finance, and mortgage), retail, and manufacturing. He has extensive experience working with public and private companies ranging in size from start-ups to some of the largest and most complex Fortune 100 companies. He possesses strong team management background and takes great pride in building high-performing, collaborative teams that excel in demanding environments while building lasting relationships and earning the trust of clients and their advisors.
Waleed assists his clients in complex technical accounting and finance issues including but not limited to IPO readiness, business combinations, carve-outs, divestitures, valuation, consolidation/VIE analysis, internal controls/SOX compliance, revenue recognition, audit readiness, and financial reporting.
Prior to joining CFGI, Waleed worked as a senior manager in Deloitte’s audit practice. He trained and led multidisciplinary (Accounting, IT, Valuation, Tax, etc.) and multinational (UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, India) teams and ensured timely completion of complex projects with a strong focus on quality.
Waleed holds a BBA in Accounting and a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a certified public accountant in the state of Texas and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He also holds a certification in IFRS and possesses working knowledge as well.
