Mason is a Managing Director at CFGI’s Charlotte, NC office, providing accounting advisory services, interim CFO and Controller services, and outsourced accounting and compliance functions such as accounting policy, internal controls, financial reporting, and internal audit. Mason brings over 15 years of experience to his clients, with industry experience in consumer banking, consumer finance companies, and other various types of financial institutions. He is skilled in technical GAAP accounting, SEC reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Improvement Act, Housing and Urban Development reporting and Securitizations / Regulation AB.
Before joining CFGI, Mason was a Senior Manager at PwC in their Charlotte and Los Angeles offices. During his career at PwC, he was responsible for supervising integrated audit engagements as well accounting and regulatory advisory projects within the Banking & Capital Markets sector, including several Fortune 100 companies. While with PwC, Mason completed a three-year tour in the firm’s National Office in New York Metro, focusing on audit methods, policy and tools, as well as the implementation of ASC 326.
Mason graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is a Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina and Ohio.
