Cody is a Managing Director in CFGI’s New York office and provides accounting advisory services to clients within the banking industry and FinTech clients in the payments, lending, and investment advisor industries. He has over nine years of experience providing accounting advisory and auditing services to public and private companies ranging from development stage to Fortune 500.

Since joining CFGI, Cody has advised clients on a variety of complex accounting matters including allowance for loan losses and doubtful accounts (ASC 310), current expected credit loss models (ASC 326), revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), and consolidation under variable and voting interest models (ASC 810), among others.

Prior to joining CFGI, Cody was an Audit Manager in KPMG’s Banking & Capital Markets Practice in New York. As a Manager at KPMG, Cody was responsible for leading integrated and financial statement audits for global companies in the banking and broker-dealer industries. Technical accounting matters that were addressed at KPMG include but are not limited to allowance for loan losses, consolidation of VIEs, revenue recognition, business combinations and purchase accounting, fair value measurements, and transfers and servicing of financial assets.

Cody has advised numerous banking and FinTech clients on issues ranging from technical accounting matters and adoptions, complex transactions, SEC reporting, audit readiness assessments and resolutions, asset and business acquisitions, chart of accounts and general ledger set-up, process optimizations, budgeting and forecasting, and contract and strategic modeling. Technical accounting matters addressed include consolidations, allowance for loan loss and doubtful accounts, debt, equity and debt securities, intangibles and goodwill, business combinations, stock compensation, transfer and servicing of financial assets, and adoption of the CECL, revenue recognition, and leases standards.

Cody holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting from Michigan State University. He is a licensed CPA in the state of New York.
